habits die hard. this repetition we get into is hard to break. when i wake up, check phone, check the news, eat, clean, repeat, it seems to come automatically. our actions and responses are happening without us thinking about what or why we do these things. until we try to stop them the cycle never stops. but try to break them, notice how automatic it all was.
hard work, followed by the insistence to stick with the choices we have made. if you go about doing what you say you want to do, things will improve. at least you will be happier. if you can grasp the happy.
ever shifting, the pot at the end of the rainbow, it really never can be found. the moment we obtain anything we move on, down a further field to be trampled on, the spin must keep going. day after day the cycle must reinvent itself, like inflation, the value of what we have today continues to depreciate. strung together, a flower opens, your hair grays, you make a difference, but from a day to day perspective it is hard to see. a game, a game….a game.
“This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.”
