words to live by. |
coupled with luck, life will also require you to try certain things. to venture away from the comfort zone and to push on imaginary doors. searching for new things, people and adventures. looking around the corner, past the surface and further into the ones we surround ourselves with. it takes energy and a belief that it will all work out for the best at the end. a bit of an understanding that there are good days and bad days and up and down do not go hand in hand. the problems keep coming, along with solutions that might work out or dont. a preconceived notion of nonsense is probably healthy when facing it day to day. washing the dirt off our hands, life will require you to get muddy over and over again, will strike us in sickness and treat us to pleasure.
a day is like a mini lifetime. with the opening of the eyes in the morning, you are born. the light floods your vision and you stumble from the comfort of your bed into the bathroom to begin splashing water on your face and brushing your teeth. not much different then birth when the nurse was cleaning you off after you left your mothers belly. breakfast follows, or breastfeeding if you were a newborn. quickly though you have to grow up, decisions to be made. you face the rest of the world, with business, education and life decisions all around. small wins, many losses, a struggle with distractions abound and waves of set backs and mini accomplishments go by as the sun follows an arc in the sky, creating a range of shadows and times for you to live in. a few drinks might be had, an argument and a moment of romance, followed by the day coming to an end. tiredness takes hold as you put yourself to bed, to slip into unconsciousness. the bones ache, the mind is tired. like death, we enter into a void that we cannot see, only to wake again in the morning and repeat. over and over and over again.
