i tread lightly in this world. best to hold my tongue when i go to say the wrong thing, for words matter and the feelings that are exchanged from one another are real. the fragility of mankind is evident. there is an assumption that when you are mean to a person or put down someone the sinking feeling you create actually pulls you down with them. think of how miserly loves company how interested people are interesting and hurt people end up hurting people. perhaps an obvious observation, but it seems to permeate us all. be in our relationships at home or work or among those we call friends. these emotions are us.
dont cry because its over, smile because it happened.

in our life we are the sum parts of our experiences, mixed with our environment and our education but then add in our net worth, subtract our obligations and give us privacy and you end up with a basic man or woman. a tube that consumes and extracts, heat that is moving across the universe or as Sam Harris elegantly puts it a biochemical puppet that is acting out a determined future with little choice in the matter. regardless choices still matter. and as you go about your day keep this in front of you, try not to criticize create jealousy or anger in the world.
the skin on our bodies brings us joy, but also is a conduit for pain. the exchange we made that we make when we choose to care, love or experience anything can come back to harm us. the pain we put into a project or a partner exposes us to a world that at times can be cruel but it also can be amazing and fulfilling. it is hard to hide anything for to be disingenuous is usually quite evident. but we can hold back our boasting and be less critical of others when we encounter them. it makes for a better day for them and incidentally for you.
