we are not digging holes. effort is necessary, but as you navigate life you realise that not only what you don’t do creates options, but how you go about doing things also has drastic effects. subtle movements, concentrated efforts and knowing where to place effort create change and do not force. do not put too much pressure anywhere, things-people tend to break when too much effort is placed on them. a subtle effort, to coast through the day.
one must exert an amount of time and thought to understand where effort needs to be placed. a mother knows what her child needs after nights of tending, a salesman knows that questions to field when pandering to his customers and one knows what it takes to land on the step you have placed in front of them. anxiety about approaching something new holds many of back, or we see too much work ahead and give up easy. taken apart, most things can be tried with little energy, too much will repel or break most things.
push but dont shove. accept but dont take. be there when needed and leave when the show is over. do not smother the flowers, your loved ones or your customers. and do not disappear. come and go. follow the platinum rule and treat others how they want to be treated, if you do not know what they want then follow how you would want to be treated. if it is taking too much effort, pull back a bit, we are going downstream, nothing should be that hard.
