we are who we are in relation to others. there is no other way to define ourselves other then by our relationship with those around us. the more we are with another person, or group of people, the further our definition becomes. our description of ourselves being defined by how we see ourselves in relations to those around us and how those around us see us. you are healthy if your doctor tells you, but why are you even seeing the doctor, this also says a thing about us.
tomorrow our eyes will open to another day, it might as well be another life. what will come is already awaiting. we pull clothes from a closet we have pretended to orchestrate. this costume will define us, as will the next five people we call or lunch with. our way of life, in the office or school or home will add more patterns to a life what we live, with or without a choice in the matter. our choices and the choices happening to us too close to define. our ecosystem is us. i wake to find myself in a world that has defined me. i get into a car, step into an office and put on articles of clothes that represent the i that i think i am. the i that i want the world to believe i am. this is my idea of self.
we are told to surround ourselves with better people. to be around those that will help us rise, but what choice do we have in this matter? we are around those of us we have gotten to know, those who we have a shared attraction to and with. this is by no means a choice. like everything it is a chance, a fluke a luck, with no choice in our making. there is an idea that ideas have nowhere to land, the same could be said to us. floating in and out of situations and opportunities, hoping to appear at a place when the tide is coming in, when it is not falling apart, but what is our choice in the matters. we arrive at the river and it is either dry or perhaps too fast to enter, or if we are lucky, it is perfect to wade into.
you are the universe experiencing itself.
