your never going to accomplish anything without a high chance of failure. it is the thing that stands in your way and must be overcome, its what gives a win its size and its also what gives our task an agency to finish. when there are no obstructions, when its all downhill the outcomes feel and act differently. we never want an easy chase, no matter what we say to ourselves, we want the struggle. the climb to reward the high.
life is difficult.
M. Scott Peck. First words from Road Less Traveled.
at times these obstacles are self imposed. man places an imaginary goalpost in the future somewhere and its where we aim to get. we sabotage ourselves by stretching the marks further and lost vast gains by going all in once again. always looking over the next fence, across the table and imagining a life yet attained, our desire for more is deep within us.
if not placed by us, life itself will intervene and create leaks on your roof, a sick spouse, a tax man, a sports event or a weather challenge that one will have to overcome. or succumb too. and when we fail, a happening that is more common then we wish to accept, it gives us a chance to try again. just like the seasons with the trees, it is us that grow with each year, hoping to gain a bit more girth, assume a bit more area of space and take a bit more oxygen in the air from those around us. and its not easy, nor should it be. life is difficult, for all of us.
