You couldn’t relive your life, skipping the awful parts, without losing what made it worthwhile.
Proverbs
locked away in such a large city, one of around 28 million, a pawn in a wave of fear of getting sick, we must not get sick the party says, we must beat this invisible enemy. so everyone is confined to their homes while test after test and mass quarantine camps are set up to weed out the infected from the healthy. this is the only way according to the leaders, and since they run the party they get to set the rules. as one of the attendes, I must play along, among their rules, in their image, within their boundaries.
but this is true everywhere. whenever you are a guest at a party, you must play along with their rules, or leave the party and find another one that might better suit. or start your own, but then others have to attend and you will be left coming up with your own game rules. their is no other rule, unless you want to wrangle the power out of the hands of the others, but remember that also will have its own consequences. power has its advantages, for in all this quarantine the people making the rules are running around outside. we have each encountered our set of rules, our confinement, no one escapes.
our thoughts are still able to flow, but anxiety has crept in. where does this leave the country, how do companies exist in this chaos and how long will this fiasco go on for? if I do not buck the system it seems the party is fine to include me. but i do tilt my head this time and wonder if this is the party i wish to attend. is this my party, if I were to throw a party would it look like this and have these rules. probably not.
