a lovely emma watson growing up.
is it the end of the war, the battle or the day that we need to find peace? if someone fails for half their life, but succeeds at the end was it a success? i would think it depends on the amount of failure and if they were doing what they wanted to be doing. hardly a day goes by where the good times will continue, where the game isn’t stopped and a new one started. with this evolution in life the outcome almost becomes secondary to the way we had played it. the journey was what it was all about, not the end.
a favorite podcaster dan carlin came back on the air today, after a year hiatus with his common sense podcast to explain why he had taken so much time off and why he will continue too. in his voice, you can hear the concern and the confusion as we enter unchartered waters in a nation that seems to want to tear itself apart. hidden among the internet and waging wars on the television, a split is emerging that is drawing lines between two ideologies and tribes that have both sides vehemently screaming at one another. albeit online, the way this goes forward could have deep consequences to such a great nation. it reminds me of an experiment conducted in the 1960s called ‘mouse utopia’ where, left to their own demise, a population of otherwise happy and well fed mice entered into chaos and collapse even in the most perfect of settings. we have a hard time enjoying our own success as many people prove over and over again. left to our own doings, we too enter into a state of confusion and chaos that does not bring good to our own species.
