Attended church today, a place on the island called one love ministries a friendly enough church were I got the chance to sit next to a man who called himself Frank, who proudly wore a bikers jacket with the words ‘bikers for misters’ written on it. We spoke briefly about the church during a period where the pastor encouraged the attendees to go about the room to meet one another. Spoke that the ministry worked through community and I could not be in more agreement. Community allowed this church to grow and stay strong. It defined its boundaries and its message in the form of a myriad segment of Honolulu’s population. It was nice to see both young and old people of various races enjoy a light hearted account of church. No hard messages pushed, just the idea that we are all having a hard time and that this is normal, and that we need to look above or outside for the reason for it all and believe that it is all part of a plan.
another time or place, it could be too little.
but in todays world, with all its noise and alienation, it is just enough.
like goldilocks porridge or the comfort of her bed, being just right is the number.
moderation is the key to it all…
