step away, shade your eyes, its all falling apart, but its fine inside. step away, step away. step inside.

whispers turn to shouts. reminders to not read the news…ignorance is bliss we recall as an urge to smoke, drink or do anything to dumb down the fact that it is all going to shit. if you ignore the doctors advice, turn off the news or dont open the mail do our problems recede, probably not. the winds pick up, the clouds gather…a swell is coming.
weight loss, heat waves, night sweats, drought, its impossible to define a subject without including its surroundings. streaks of fire scatter the earth and our prison populations explode while fields of trees are being planted in the deserts with teams of kids who will spend their lives cleaning the oceans we have polluted. as the old women laughs at the sight of a baby giggling, day turns to night..opposites forever attracting. its this race towards calmness that brings the highest waves for markets gathering steam and crashing is the spectacle we are all wading through.
however you feel now a change will come. there is no constant, the ocean keeps waving and your heart and thoughts keep moving. on a spinning sphere nobody stands still. night and day are both coming and a certainty that no longer how dry the soil gets life will find a way. the good are there to define what darkness looks like and we are all in the mix to fall on either side.
there is nothing so beautiful as the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times its sent away.
