our personalities change. we adapt for different situations, gain confidence and lose them from day to day depending as much on the balance in our bank to the way we feel inside our body. on a good day, a confident day, it is hard for any feelings or words to break us. confidence, like a shield of armour, allows us to go about things in a tougher more secure feeling. i look good, i feel good, therefore….
at other times, when a head cold comes along or when things start to fall apart at the seams, a mild comment can shake our foundation. our loved ones, unknowingly can tear us apart with simple comments that do not take into account the things that are going on around us. the world turns a shade of grey, it is hard to walk with our chin-up and things start to fall apart in our minds and in our realities.
up and down it goes. for everyone and everything. the problem with being someone high up is that the eventual fall hurts that much more. the risk, and those must continue, become greater as you look for something to replace the feeling of comfort that once came so easy. like an addict searching for the next high, the longer life goes on to numb you the harder it is to feel anything at all. the facade of content that we force out to face the world becomes harder to remain intact. the tell becomes easier to spot. the wrinkles and the eyes cannot mask them anymore.
