think about what you are thinking about. stop for a moment and notice the thoughts that are going on inside your mind. notice how they linger for a while, then get tired and retreat. some will come back, like an unwanted leak that keeps appearing no matter how many times you patch the roof. notice its origins, from nowhere, bits of facts and friends intermingled, something you have to do or something bothering you. imagine if you could clear them for a moment, to rest the mind the way you lay down at night and rest the body.

we like to rest the mind, but not for too long. we also like to exercise it, trying to grasp markets, news, events and processes. noticing this hive of activity in our mind is important to begin the process of coming to terms with it and with who we are.
like many things, an illness, a moldy smell, a hunch, you could ignore this and go about life reacting to things and allow the scratch to be left alone. you could pretend that it is not important to quiet the mind, just as many do not exercise or follow the speed limit. but i would suggest to many to explore this area, to take a few minutes out of each day and listen to yourself. like discovering a new route to work, or how to cook or a good joke, the payoff is a cool outcome for a bit of effort into finding out what is going on in that head of yours.
