ask that simple question to yourself and see if you can answer it. what do you want in life right now? think about what you feel when you obtain that object or experience from your wish, how long will your contentment last for? now that you have obtained this wish, then what? will you follow through with the work necessary to enjoy it, or the effort to keep it in tact, does that appeal to you? the act of wanting, perhaps that is what we wanted all along. to yearn for a perfect day, life, wife or object of desire. the perfect moment is always just out of grasp, even if it is our hands today.
for me i still am making wishes, blowing candles and wishing at shooting stars, although no longer wishes for myself or for objects. still, in the daytime, i yearn for things and objects i have yet to obtain. to sit among my accomplishments grasping for more, surrounded by objects and enough money to relax and plenty of friends…what is next i think. each day i open my eyes and imagine what is missing. what i have yet to see, experience or hold as the sand runs out in my hourglass. unfinished books strewn around, unwanted food in the fridge, toys still left in their packages in boxes that i rarely open any more.
in ones life we naturally focus on the void, the negative and the unknown. i look at my face and find the scar, then on the scar i find the bump, within the bump i see the blood and discoloration. i no longer see my face, the handsome face with blue eyes and a distinguished beard. i see the scar, i wish it to be gone, to go backwards to a contentment i thought i had before it all happened. even though i know that is not possible, i yearn still the same. i then yearn to not yearn. wishing i could calm that man that yearns not to yearn, to simply know it is not enough. it never is. the reminder sets in, you can never get enough of what you dont want.

There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a log in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a log in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a bump on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a bump on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a Frog on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a Frog on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a wart on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a wart on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a fly on the wart, on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a fly on the wart, on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a flea on the fly, on the wart, on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a flea on the fly, on the wart, on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a smile on the flea, on the fly, on the wart, on the frog, on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a smile on the flea, on the fly, on the wart, on the frog ,on the bump, on the log, in the hole in the bottom of the sea
There’s a hole, there’s a hole
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea
