with sun pouring through the clouds, the magnificence of the world and its daily routine of light and darkness is an amazing feat. taken in scientific terms, our distance from the sun and the factors that allow our world to sit on such a perfect axis is like winning the lottery over and over again. the chances that it happened and we evolved from it to come into consciousness is pretty astonishing.

in its awe and mystery we go about our daily rituals. we rise from slumber, where we drift half of our life away in another world all together. we wake, rinse ourselves with warm water and proceed to eat one of three meals in the day. to work or to school we rush off.  we argue with one another, we listen to music and we merrily go about our day as if we were not spinning on a ball of rock in the middle of the universe.

it is what we can do. contemplation of the infinity of the universe only goes so far. our attention span and our headlight vision only goes as far as our selves and the ones around us. like frogs in a well, we only see the things in front of us. our faces, and the pores in them, seem as infinite and mysterious as the world beyond. our minds, the endless thoughts that appear in them also seem as far away and as unknown as the planets we one day hope to explore.
