Night view of Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano, one of Earth’s most active volcanoes. A NASA-led team is studying Hawaiian volcanoes from the air, ground and space to better understand volcanic processes and hazards.

is it just me or does the world seem to be a bit out of step at the moment? cracks are easier to find, fissures, like the kind spewing up from the volcano’s that erupt are moving in all directions. it is burning land and swallowing homes, but at the same time it is building us new earth. sometimes it just feels like it is in my mind, but other times when you pay attention to other stories and other conversations you realise that you are not alone. tribalism is growing, lines are being drawn in the sand and the start of what could be truly chaotic times might be coming.

let it pass. it always seems as though the world is on its edge. we spin at 1,000 miles per hour in space, on a rock that miraculously has spawned us. we are the universe, expanding and contracting at the same time. the animals, and we are part of it, attack one another and feed off fear and the rules of the games these days seem to be that the rules are changing.

what race is it? is the point of it to end up somewhere? to have a seat when the music stops? if we as a species do not help one another and this planet we call home will there be a place for any of us to stop and rest? does it really matter? if a volcano erupts and burns someones home down but you were spared and live in another place did it matter? knowing what goes on is sometimes paramount to having it happen to you. if you do nothing about it you simply are denying to yourself a problem that will one day come to find you.
