bearing in mind that things are never going to go the way that you had planned or expect it too. in addition, understand that many things we do happen to us, instead of us happening to it.

there is a great quote i once saw that stated: run the day, or the day runs you.

i like this quote, but am not certain how much we can actually run the day.

the weather is a certain way, the winds blow or do not. rain comes or clouds dissipate. our bodies act and feel like the weather, in their own patterns and without any notice a change can happen. our moods as well swing, small things bring about happiness or sadness. depending on the time of the day, our consciousness sees things in different shades of light. people react different ways as well. your wife or boss could be in a great mood, shine light on your life or your work. keep in mind that the moment that all of this is happening the world you are on is spinning in circles in a vast universe.  viruses fight in your body, while you begin to battle with the multiple constraints of life.

family, finances, physical well being and constant questioning of what we are doing and why we are here. these are all going on, and we are all dealing with these issues as we age and decay.

we feel the greatest when we know the least. the adage that ignorance is bliss is true. as soon as we see the clouds come, watch the bank account and stock market rise and fall, when we regret our actions and doubt ourselves,  the self suffers. and it does not stop until you forget again.

it is the journey. the place between here and there. the happiest moments are in between things. when you are striving towards goals. hiking to the mountain tops or beginning a journey. most of the dreams that one reached will leave you with a feeling of disappointment. it is hard to explain why, it is something about the actual destination that makes one let down a bit. you see this in many shades and variations in the world. people constantly going after more.

rinse wash and repeat. and why. for myself it is a lack of a better choice.

great article on the crisis of being here:
