Spent Christmas in Shanghai after arriving here with the family last night. Let the company staff have a short day, 4 instead of the normal 8 hours, and took my family out to a lunch buffet at a nice hotel followed by some shopping with my son then visited some friends.

Have noticed that of recent, our holidays have been following a bit of a ‘lite’ schedule. Not so intense on traditions, not following any sort of schedule or ritual. Sometimes with family and sometimes with friends, but very casual. It is nice, kind of taking things a bit less serious of lately. Telling myself and others that it is fine. I firmly believe that if we are not fighting for feeling better (i.e. sickness) or physically fighting (like war) then a positive outlook is the only outlook. And that taking these holidays with a perspective of not too serious, it can show that everything can be taken a bit lighter.

Our days… It runs like a calendar, page after page usually not marked by many differences. We try to make a difference, make a mark, but end up with very little changed and continually focused on ourselves. Things also do not last. I think about the thousands of years we have been on the planet, but see very little of things from ages past. In particular in Hawaii and Shanghai. Seems that most the stuff I see have been built or created in the past fifty years. What was going on before then? And what if anything can I leave the earth with?
