Flickr just came out with their top photos of the year, great photos and simply organised, it makes for a great place to waste some time and find some cool photos.

I like to think I have a decent ability to shoot photos, although I am told by my lovely wife that my photos are average at best. I blame my camera, and the fact that I did not pay attention in class when I took photo 101 in High School
When I go back and look at photos I shot it seems like a small snap shot of what I was doing on a random time and day in the past. I delete the ones that do not have any appeal, and rarely go back to look at the ones that I save.
People take alot of photos these days. It is estimated that over 1 trillion photos will be taken this year a nifty graph showing this statistic is below in picture form:
Like collective memories, all of these photos are captured, mainly digitally, and preserved for as long as this internet of things is going. With the cloud, they might be around forever. With photo manipulation being possible, the infinite variations of each photo only add on the dazzling array of photos out there.
