“Beware the quiet man. For while others speak, he watched. And while others act, he plans. And when they finally rest… he strikes.”

(borrowed from the opening of Vice)

its all in the angle.

from ones vantage point, how you frame the conversation or the outcome, success and failure is simply a perspective. your guilt or innocence is also in the approach of how the framers care to show it. each side paints their argument, unlike a game of ball the points are tallied differently, the winners and losers ultimately playout in the heads of those participating and most great games and outcomes is when both walk away having lost a little, or won a bit. an uneven slaughter is no fun, both for the victor or the loser, it is not a zero sum game and when you are counting your winnings or licking your wounds realize that depending on the way you frame it the win or the loss is for you to decide.

it was the best of days, it was the worst. both sides have to exist. its why it is better to live in places that on occasion have awful weather, it gives you something to blame other then yourself. it if were only sunnier then i would be happy, then things would be going my way. but they cannot, the pendulum must swing if only to cause shadows and allow a good day to stand apart from other moments. i must have sadness, hangovers, losses and tragedy in order to have gains, happiness, and wild abandonment.

all the good things are hard in the beginning. hard work brings success, exercise brings a healthy body, study and good practices a healthy mind, mindfulness to others and helping people bring about true friendships. sincerity and honesty create a good foundation for any meaningful relationship. …moderation is the key and comes into play, but the easy things and pleasures will not pay off in the end.
