the glass is half-full. the wheels have not fallen off and we did not throw the baby away with the bathwater. we have heating and cooling, food of endless choices and can travel almost anywhere cheaper and quicker then anytime in history. as a species we have grown and mostly gotten along with one another—working in tandem on laws, production of food and products in a world that is becoming more connected to one another as time moves forward.

best to hold this thought. the sun is up and the future bright. like a ship coming into port with gifts instead of plagues, I wish to imagine an up without a down. i want my cake without any fear that the sugar count will shoot up, that i need other nutrients, its almost enough to believe, but the nagging truth and decay cannot be avoided in the mind. the pink elephant wont leave my mind. it has begun, its now only a matter of time.

currently the doors on the cabinets all line up. the white we choose for our painted doors have yet to yellow, the conditions are holding for now. things appear stable, and if squint just right they appear just right.
