miss aloha land.

it comes, sun shining through the window. somehow sleep found you and you awaken anew into the world. your yesterday helped line up much of today, but you actions and your decisions today will lay the groundwork for tomorrow. the peak of the summer heat abates and shows signs of an autumn on its way. calmness, calamities of tomorrow await, but for now things are dandy.

a mixture of curiosity is necessary to keep the progress going. i find that the drive to move forward, to build has been diminished slightly as my age continues forward. tiredness creeps in, a bit of drive has given way to something more akin to drifting. like floating down a stream, i see the rapids ahead and yet do nothing to avoid them. perhaps down the falls i want to fall. a dear person in my life once told me that our lack of drive and ambition are necessary to make room for the youth, to give them something to strive for. to do. perhaps she was right.

and so we tumble in the olden age. into what briar patch could we be thrown into and who cares anyways. the ones we want to see will see another choreographed picture anyways. into our houses they might come, but to the bottom of our dresser drawers will take awhile for them to see. our debts, secrets, our ability to flinch those are hidden, take to the grave with us.
