we need good and bad. if only to keep an idea of what side we are on. what would you do all day if you did not have an enemy to go and battle? if there were no weeds it the yards, hangovers from the drinks or growing belly from the snacks what would we do to ourselves? we need the competitor who acts and looks a bit like us to really get off our ass to build something. vows of marriage are not enough, there had to be the creation of STD’s to keep us in line. It would be boring if we had nothing to challenge us.

Its also important that our life is always being used up. that along with good versus bad we also have the duality of life versus death playing along. light represents the day and dark the ying, good and bad, up and down, these dualities create contrast in an otherwise flat world. if there was no empty space in a window what would be looking out into? the vessel is the empty space it holds. in these contrast are everything. an enemy is important if only to define what we consider a friend.

to venture out will bring out the good and the bad. with hard drinking comes hard consequences. big bets will sometimes cause huge losses. stay in the middle if you want stability, push to the edges if you want the rush. we are part of it all, occupying space in a world that it is fighting and fucking right along with us. switching sides to test reactions among itself, creating nothing out of something. the same anger that boils over when you come across your enemy is the necessary energy to push you one step further in our evolutionary game of life we are playing. an energy to move us forward as we are being played.
