liza soberano, the beauty of the east.

what to do…moments are passing, people keep moving in and out of our lives, places are opening and closing at a dizzying speed and its clearer and clearer that the present moment is the only thing that matters. but even in those moments, the meaning of it all changes and remains unclear. it could all be taken away, or you could find yourself with more than you can handle and you are giving it away. a day could be going great, and you turn a certain direction and your back goes out, or a car veers into your lane, or you get caught for doing something that you should have gotten away with. the music keeps changing, the rules fluctuate and the only thing that does not change is change.

this marathon of life,  each stage the chips count different. the finish line, a mirage in the distance, and the winner is….death….the only place we know we are all going.
congratulations, you have made it.  the only real question, why not get there sooner?
it’s the game we keep wanting to play, the hide and seek. the chase. the challenge. if we can simply do it again, do it better. if we can just get over this difficulty. if we can get away with it. if we can make it one more time. rinse, wash, repeat and then die.
does the backpack kid hold the answers?
