the emperors of yesterday forbade their children from conducting business. their kids were pushed into music, education and taught about how to conduct ones court or social graces. the lords thought that money and business were dirty things, left to the peasants and those beyond the castle walls, the exchange of goods and services through a medium of barter was seen to cause fights, jealousy… an unevenness between the cleaver and the commoners grew. occasionally brute force would win but for the most part it was the cleverness of those quicker would win the race. an imbalance and resentment that grew to to a tipping point seen in some of the major wars. along the way, and in between, we gather and strive to fight for dollars we then figure how to spend later on in life.

in todays time, unless you are born to royalty, you have no choice. so you enter the world and you start bartering. the knowledge of why the royals kept away seems apparent. i have been dealing with a few individuals recently who seem to be putting self interest ahead of the initial agreement. I find this common when doing business with others and am aware that when money comes into play some people (in particular the hungrier ones) act greedy.

i imagine a household that was short on love and education. watching the current set of actors and actresses who put self first, i see people dying alone, having no friends or individuals that will get close to them for fear of being cut out. this idea that its just business has always left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, a justification of taking from others what was rightfully not theirs. the excuses and reasoning are varied, but it mainly comes down to some idea of you have more, i have less, or i have done more or be happy with what you are receiving…like the tables have been turned and their justification for cheating is then balanced by their charitable effort of inching back to where a middle line once was. i will have to write them off, or perhaps i already have, or perhaps they did when they started acting in such a way.
